Description:
I am 40 and I work part time for a local charity. I help run a brownie pack which is lots of fun and I enjoy lots of sports - mainly just watching. My children keep me very busy with their social life and when I have time I like to catch up with my friends for lunch or a night out.
My BC Story So Far:
Breast cancer has been in my family for 10 years as my sister was diagnosed at 36 and sadly died aged 43 in 2008. I was diagnosed 3 months after her death with DCIS. I've had 2 ops and then 3 weeks of radiotherapy. I have had the Braca 1 and 2 test but they were negative. I hoped that that was it, but last week after a routine MRI then Biopsy the DCIS was back and I now have to have a mastectomy. Waiting to see plastic surgeon today 11th June and may have a double mastectomy to completly take away any re-occurance.
Had Bi-Lateral Mastectomy on 26th June using a new method of Strattish Mesh and Implants.
Nodes all Clear and no invasive cancer found on either breasts.
